 (This translation is done for academic purpose and is based on the text provided in the NEB text book of Class 11, Nepal) - Rupendra Pokhrel   मलालाको मन्तब्य आज लामो समय पछि फेरी बोल्न पाउनु मेरा लागि सौभाग्यको कुरा हो । यहाँ उपस्थित सम्मानित व्यक्तित्वहरु बीच आफुलाई पाउनु मेरो जिवनको महत्वपूर्ण क्षण पनि हो । म मेरो मन्त्वब्य कहाँबाट सुरु गरौं भन्ने मेलो पाइरहेकी छैन । मलाई थाहा छैन मबाट मासिहरुले के सुन्ने अपेक्षा राखेका छन् ।   जे भए पनि सर्बप्रथम म इश्वरलाई धन्यबाद दिन चाहन्छु जसका अगाडि हामी सबै    मानिसहरु समान छौं र ती सबै सज्जनहरुलाई पनि धन्यबाद भन्न चाहन्छु जसले मेरो सिघ्र स्वास्थ्य लाभका लागि र नयाँ जीवनको लागि प्राथना गरिदिनु भयो । म प्रति यति धेरै मानिसहरुले देखाउनु भएको माया म आफैले नै विश्वास गर्न सकिरहे कि छैन । मैले संसार भरीबाट हजारौं शुभकामना कार्ड र उपहारहरु पाएकी छु । उहाँहरु सबैमा कृतज्ञता व्यक्त गर्दछु । धन्यवाद छ ती बालबालीकाहरुलाई जस्का निर्दोष शब्दहरुले मलाई प्रोत्साहन दिए र सबै अग्रज जनहरुलाई पनि जसको प्राथनाले मलाई शक्ति प्रदान...

  Summary by Rupendra Pokhrel Robertson Davies is a popular Canadian writer, playwright, journalist, novelist, professor and critic who was born on 28 Aug, 1913. A Few Kind Words for Superstition is one of his finest essays which describes about the superstitions practiced and followed  not only by ignorant people but also by intelligent, learned and devout ones. In this essay, he tries to present a different perspective of superstition thereby showing some examples of his own life and his surrounding how superstition has an influence on everyone. He begins his essay claiming that "superstition is not a serious challenge to science or reasons" though it is deplored.
